Happy Monday and welcome to Blogmas day fourteen! Let’s talk about some of the most talked about books of 2020.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E Schwab
” The Invisible life of Addie LaRue” by V.E Schwab has been everywhere! If I am being honest, I was originally on the fence about this book. The more I’ve seen it, the more intrigued I have become. It is currently on my TBR and I look forward to reading it in 2021 and seeing whether or not it lives up to the hype.

Verity by Colleen Hoover
This is not a 2020 release. I read this book when it released last year and loved it. Now let me just issue a small disclaimer here, lol. This is definitely a polarizing book. Some people absolutely love it while others do not. I really enjoyed it and thought that it was fun to see Colleen Hoover step outside of her box a little bit. The “Verity” train continued into 2020. In just about every Facebook book club that I am a member of, there is at least a post a week centered around this book. Check it out and let me know your thoughts!

My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell
This book has seen its fair share of controversy this year. It has been compared to Lolita. It comes with many trigger warnings but also many rave reviews. Personally, I do not foresee myself reading this one but definitely let me know what you thought of it.

Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno- Garcia
Who has not seen this book all over the book world this year? I don’t know much about it and haven’t read the synopsis. When it comes to thrillers, mystery, and horror books, I really try to go in knowing the least amount of details as possible. This book is on my TBR and I plan to read it very, very soon.

Last Stop from Innocence by Takerra Allen
Of course I had to include this book. “Last Stop from Innocence” definitely took 2020 by storm. Check out my review here. Does it deserve all the love? Absolutely! Definitely one of my favorite reads of the year.

Crescent City by Sarah J. Maas
I went the entire year confused about whether this book was titled “ Crescent City” or if it was titled, “House of Blood and Earth”…I’m still not too sure, lol. Either way it has definitely been talked about. I have never read a book by SJM. Let me know if it lived up to the hype.

The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
This book released with a bang. An HBO adaptation is currently in the works. It has won numerous awards. I buddy read this book with a friend and we both really enjoyed it. You can check out my review here. I’m really looking forward to reading her first book, “The Mothers,” next year.
Those are just a few of the books that I have seen talked about the most this year. What books would you add to this list? I look forward to hearing from you. If you missed Blogmas day thirteen, check it out here. Thanks for reading!
Nice post! I’m reading The Invisible Life of Addie Larue and it’s quite slow, so make sure you’re in the right mood to pick it up (or chances are you might not like it very much).
Happy Holidays!

I cannot stop thinking about My Dark Vanessa. I thought it was brilliantly done but it can definitely mess with you.
I read both The Vanishing Half and The Mothers this year and both were fantastic. I think I liked The Mothers just a little bit more. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
