Summer Book Recommendations

“Summer, Summer, Summertime! Time to sit back and unwind!” Now that I have the song stuck in my head, lol, HELLO! With the official start of summer only a few weeks away, I thought now would be a great time to talk about some summer book recommendations. I have compiled a short list of books that are perfect for the beach, camping, or however else you plan on spending your summer days! Enjoy.

Guy and Nova!!! I read “If Only For the Summer” last summer and absolutely loved it. It remains one of my favorite books by Alexandra Warren. A little summer romance never hurt anyone. Genre: Black Romance/ Contemporary

“Nobody But You” by Bella Jay and Skye Moon features a destination wedding in book one. The tropical setting just gives summer vibes 100%! There are three books in this series. So much drama! Genre: Black Romance/ Urban Contemporary

“Hurricane Summer” takes us to Jamaica for a summer we will not soon forget. A very emotional read. Genre: YA Contemporary

I have been binging Shae Sanders books lately ( more about that soon) and definitely had to check out her newest release” Sand to the Beach.” Definitely a steamy, fun summer read. Genre: Black Romance/ Erotica

“Heart Bones” left me crying last year when I read it. Beyah goes to spend the summer with her father after tragedy strikes and…well, read it and find out! Genre: New Adult/ Romance

I loved the atmosphere and setting. Genre: YA Mystery/ Family Drama

One of my favorite series! A spinoff, The Box in the Woods, comes out later this month. Summer campy vibes for sure. Genre: YA Mystery/ Thriller

One word: Kingston. But seriously, Truth or Dare is a steamy good time with a tropical setting that I just couldn’t get enough of! Genre: Black Romance/ Erotica

“We Were Liars” features a twist that many did not see coming. The cozy, mysterious vibe of this book screams summer. Genre: YA Mystery/ YA Contemporary

Heatwaves and Heatstrokes are both part of the Summer Fling novella duology by Kema B.. Genre: Black Romance

I haven’t read this book yet but it is on my immediate TBR. Everything from the cover to the title says ” summer, summer, summertime!” Genre: Romance
