Hey, hey! By the time you’re reading this post, we should know whether or not the groundhog saw his shadow. I don’t really follow Groundhog Day (other than making some cute crafts with my class, lol) but I do know that I’m ready for some warmer weather ASAP! Anywho, since today is Groundhog Day, I wanted to talk about the Groundhog Day Time Loop trope.
What is this trope you may ask? It happens when a character finds themselves caught in a time loop where they keep repeating a particular time again and again. Have you ever watched the movie “Groundhog Day” starring Bill Murray? The main character, Phil, literally lives the same day over and over…and over again trying to get it right.
Now, this is definitely one of my least favorite tropes. I have read a book here and there that features it. What I’ve found is that it can get really redundant quickly.
